Garbage 2024 is an upcoming 2024 concert tour by American alternative rock band Garbage in support of their greatest hits album Anthology (2022) and the 20th anniversary re–release of their 2005 album Bleed Like Me (2024). The tour marks the bands first live shows in continental Europe in five years. Solely a European tour, it includes dates in countries such as Scotland, Spain, Italy, France, England and Germany.
Background
Posting on their official Instagram page on 4 March 2024, Garbage announced their first European tour in over five years, saying "So excited to announce that after 5 long years, we are finally returning to Europe this summer. Hope you will be able to join us".[1] Tickets for the tour went on sale to the general public across Europe on 8 March 2024, with a pre–sale available on 7 March 2024.[2]
The first date of the tour is set to begin in Italy on 26 June 2024 at Magnolia in Milan. Two dates were confirmed in Shirley Manson's native country, Scotland, 12 July 2024 and 14 July 2024. Garbage will play the main stage at the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow on 12 July, followed by a date at the Usher Hall in Manson's home city, Edinburgh (Scotland).[3] The band will end the tour with a headline gig at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England on 20 July 2024.[4]
Garbage last toured in 2022 alongside Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds during the Garbage & Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds: Live in Concert. The tour consisted a total of 25 shows in North America. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds toured in support of their fourth studio album, Council Skies, which was released on the day the tour began.[5] Garbage continued their tour in support of their seventh studio album, No Gods No Masters (2021).[6][7] Daniel Shulman played bass on tour with Garbage.[8]
Tour dates
The tour begins on 26 June 2024, and ends on 20 July 2024. The band are expected to play a total of 16 shows across Europe.[9]
