Hanson is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.[2]

The CDP is in east-central Sequoyah County, at the base of Hanson Mountain, which rises 200 feet (61 m) above the community. Hanson is 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Sallisaw, the Sequoyah county seat, and 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Muldrow.
