Vanguard Lions
The Vanguard Lions are the athletic teams that represent Vanguard University, located in Costa Mesa, California, in NCAA intercollegiate sports. Vanguard are currently in the process of moving its athletic programs from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to the NCAA; the Lions will become transitionary members of Division II on July 1, 2024.[2]
The Lions will remain members of the Golden State Athletic Conference until that move, after which 13 of its 20 programs will join the Pacific West Conference (PacWest). While one of the remaining programs, men's volleyball, will gain associated members in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, Vanguard does not yet have a home for the remaining six teams.
