Lions Gate Entertainment Corporation (yleisesti Lionsgate) on kanadalais-yhdysvaltalainen elokuvayhtiö. Yhtiö perustettiin Vancouverissa, Brittiläisessä Kolumbiassa, mutta sen pääkonttori sijaitsee Santa Monicassa, Kaliforniassa. Historia

Lionsgaten perusti vuonna 1995 kanadalainen pankkiiri Frank Giustra, joka toivoi voivansa hyödyntää kotikaupunkinsa kasvavaa elokuvateollisuutta. Yhtiö osti useita pieniä tuotantoyhtiöitä, kuten Montrealissa toimineen Cinepix Film Productionsin, Trimark Picturesin, Mandate Picturesin ja Artisan Entertainmentin.

Yhtiön ensimmäinen suurta menestystä saavuttanut elokuva oli vuonna 2000 valmistunut Amerikan psyko. Muita merkittäviä elokuvia olivat Verijäljet, Gods and Monsters, Dogma, Saw ja Michael Mooren dokumentti Fahrenheit 9/11, josta tuli yhtiön parhaiten tuottanut elokuva.

Lionsgate omistaa yhdessä MGM:n ja Paramount Picturesin/Viacomin kanssa Epixin, maksullisen elokuvakanavan, joka aloitti lähetyksensä 30. lokakuuta 2009.lähde?

Tammikuussa 2012 Lionsgaten ilmoitettiin ostaneen Summit Entertainmentin 412,5 miljoonalla dollarilla. Summit Entertainmentin kenties tunnetuimpia elokuvia ovat Stephenie Meyerin Twilight-kirjasarjaan perustuvat filmatisoinnit.[1]
