Primatológia

A primatológia a zoológia (állattan), azon belül a mammalógia (emlőstan) főemlősökkel foglalkozó tudományága. E tudományággal foglalkozó tudósokat primatológusoknak nevezik. Kutatási területe a főemlősök (Primates) rendjébe tartozó élőlények, így az ember is. Az emberekkel foglalkozó ága az antropológia (embertan).
