Islands in the Stream (1970) adalah yang pertama dari karya-karya Ernest Hemingway yang diterbitkan secara anumerta. Novel ini awalnya dimaksudkan untuk menghidupkan kembali reputasi Hemingway setelah ulasan negatif dari Across the River and Into the Trees. Dia mulai menulisnya pada tahun 1950 dan berkembang pesat hingga tahun 1951. Karya itu, dalam versi kasar tetapi tampaknya berhasil di selesaikan, lalu ditemukan oleh Mary Hemingway di antara 332 karya yang ditinggalkan Hemingway saat kematiannya. Kepulauan di Stream dimaksudkan mencakup tiga cerita untuk mengilustrasikan tahapan yang berbeda dalam kehidupan karakter utamanya, Thomas Hudson. Tiga bagian berbeda dari novel ini awalnya berjudul "The Sea When Young", "The Sea When Absent" dan "The Sea in Being". Namun, judul-judul ini diubah menjadi tiga babak: "Bimini", "Kuba", dan "At Sea".
