Action Bronson, pseudonimo di Arian Asllani (New York, 2 dicembre 1983), è un rapper e cuoco statunitense di origini albanesi. Nel mese di agosto 2012, Bronson ha firmato per Warner Bros. Records e Atlantic Records. Ha pubblicato diversi mixtape, come Rare Chandeliers con il produttore statunitense hip hop The Alchemist, prima di rilasciare il suo debutto in major, un EP intitolato Saaab Stories insieme al collaboratore Harry Fraud nel 2013.

Biografia

1983-2010: Primi anni di vita e inizio carriera

Il padre di Bronson è albanese e in giovane età è immigrato negli Stati Uniti dove ha conosciuto la sua futura moglie, la madre di Action, la quale è newyorkese con origini ebraiche[1][2].

Prima di entrare a far parte della scena rap, Bronson era un rispettato chef gourmet, infatti rappa spesso di cibo nelle sue canzoni e ha presentato il suo show di cucina online dal titolo Action in the Kitchen. Ha guadagnato fama per essere liricamente e stilisticamente simile al rapper Ghostface Killah (con cui ha collaborato insieme al rapper e amico Termanology su una traccia chiamata Meteor Hammer nella compilation ‘‘Legendary Weapons’’ del 2011). In un'intervista su HipHopDX gli è stato chiesto cosa pensasse del fatto che avesse un suono simile a lui, e Bronson ha risposto così:

«Yeah, I mean at the end of the day, it’s all good because Ghostface Killah is one of the best rappers alive, so if I sound similar to the best rapper alive then that is fine. To me there is no comparison; he is a legend and I am a newcomer. If I would try and emulate with anyone it would be Kool G Rap, he is the person I look up to the most. I am not upset but at the end of the day I am my own person and no one can take that away from me.»

2011: Dr. Lecter e Well Done

Nel 2011 ha pubblicato il suo primo album in studio, Dr. Lecter, disponibile in download digitale e in CD-R sul suo sito ufficiale. Nello stesso anno è seguito il suo secondo sforzo, Well Done, in collaborazione con Statik Selektah.

2012-2014: Il contratto con la Warner Bros. e Saaab Stories

Nel 2012 Paul Rosenberg diventa manager di Bronson e lo mette sotto contratto con la sua società di gestione Goliath Artists. Nello stesso anno Action Bronson entra anche in Warner Bros. Records tramite la società di media VICE e l'agenzia di vendita di biglietti per concerti NUE. Il 12 marzo 2012 pubblica il mixtape Blue Chips, in collaborazione con i Party Supplies. Vengono prodotti due featuring nel primo album di collaborazione tra Domo Genesis e The Alchemist No Idols sulle tracce Elimination Chamber (insieme a Earl Sweatshirt e Vince Staples) e Daily News (insieme a SpaceGhostPurrp ed Earl). Nel corso dell'anno registra e pubblica Rare Chandeliers, un mixtape in collaborazione con The Alchemist.

Nel marzo 2013 Bronson suona al Coachella Valley Music e all'Arts Festival e nello stesso mese viene inserito nella XXL Magazine's 2013 Freshman Class, una lista di rapper emergenti americani. Nel maggio 2013 viene trasferito all'Atlantic Records, per la quale ha rilasciato l'EP Saaab Stories l'11 giugno 2013. L'EP è stato prodotto interamente da Harry Fraud, e appaiono featuring con rapper quali Raekwon, Wiz Khalifa e Prodigy. Rilasciato per il solo download digitale, l'album è stato preceduto dal singolo Strictly 4 My Jeep. Nel luglio 2013 ha dichiarato che vorrebbe ottenere un featuring con Nas e Kool G Rap sul suo album di debutto in major. Questo verrà rilasciato nei primi mesi del 2014. Il 3 agosto 2013 Riff Raff ha annunciato che pubblicherà un album in collaborazione con Action Bronson dal titolo Galaxy Gladiators nel 2014. Il 1º novembre 2013 ha pubblicato Blue Chips 2 come promozione dell'album, il secondo capitolo della collaborazione tra lui e i Party Supplies. Il 28 ottobre 2013 Funkmaster Flex ha annunciato che avrebbe ospitato Action Bronson in un prossimo mixtape. Le produzioni del suo album saranno di Erick Sermon, Mike Will Made It, Mustard e Jahlil Beats. Nel novembre 2013, in un'intervista a Rolling Stone, Bronson ha dichiarato che Kool G Rap e Mobb Deep sarebbero stati disponibili a collaborare nel suo prossimo album. Nel febbraio 2014, Bronson, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar e 360 hanno accompagnato Eminem nel suo breve tour in Australia e Nuova Zelanda.

2015-presente: Mr. Wonderful

L'album di Action Bronson, Mr. Wonderful, è uscito il 24 marzo 2015 ed è supportato da 4 singoli "Baby Blue" (feturing Chance The Rapper), "Easy Rider", "Actin Crazy" e "Terry".
