バリー・アンドリューズ[2]（Barry Andrews、1956年9月12日 - ）は、イングランドの歌手、ソングライター、ミュージシャン、キーボード奏者であり、かつてはXTCやリーグ・オブ・ジェントルメンのメンバーを務め、シュリークバックを共同で結成した[1][3]。いくつかのプロジェクトでブライアン・イーノとコラボレーションしており、最近では2005年のアルバム『アナザー・デイ・オン・アース』にキーボードでゲスト参加している。アンドリューズは、1980年のイギー・ポップのアルバム『ソルジャー』でデヴィッド・ボウイ、アイヴァン・クラール、グレン・マトロック、クラウス・クルーガーと共演した[4]。

略歴

アンドリューズは、1976年、名前をXTCに変更したのとほぼ同時に、アンディ・パートリッジとコリン・モールディングによって結成されたグループに参加した。2枚のアルバムに参加後、1978年にXTCを脱退し、ソロ・キャリアに乗り出した[3]。

1980年の間、サラ・リーと共にロバート・フリップによるリーグ・オブ・ジェントルメンのメンバーを務めた。また「レストラン・フォー・ドッグズ (Restaurant for Dogs)」と呼ばれる自身のグループを持っていた。1981年、元ギャング・オブ・フォーのベーシストであるデイヴ・アレンとシュリークバックを結成。偶然にも、サラ・リーは後にベーシストとしてギャング・オブ・フォーに加入した。

彼の最も注目すべきソロ曲は、1980年代半ばにBBCラジオ1でアン・ナイチンゲールのリクエスト・ショーにて放送された「Win a Night Out with a Well-Known Paranoiac」であった。このシングルのA面は、ロンドンのメリルボーンにある通りにちなんで名付けられた「Rossmore Road」である。

1980年代後半、彼はイルミナティ (Illuminati)というバンドのメンバーを務め、後にレフュージズ (The Refugees)や7evenと共演した[3]。

近年、シュリークバックは本質的にソロ・プロジェクトとなり、アンドリューズは数枚のアルバムをリリースした。最近では「Malicious Damage」レーベルから『Life in the Loading Bay』（2010年）をリリースしている。

私生活

アンドリューズは、ミュージシャンであることに加えて、彫刻家であり家具職人でもある。彼の息子、フィン・アンドリューズは、ロンドンを拠点とするバンド、ザ・ヴェイルズのリードシンガー/ソングライターを務めている。
