Timothy Garton Ash (nascido em 12 de julho de 1955) é o autor britânico de oito livros de política escrita ou "história do presente" que estuda a Europa durante o último quarto de século. Ele é o professor dos estudos europeus na Universidade de Oxford, diretor do centro de estudos europeus na St. Antony’s College. Seus ensaios aparecem regularmente no New York Review of Books, e ele escreve uma coluna semanal no Guardian, que é bem distribuído em toda a Europa, Ásia e nas Américas. Ele também contribui para o New York Times, Washington Post, Prospect, colabora também com o Wall Street Journal e, por ultimo, para o The Globe and Mail.
