Yaşamı ve kariyeri
Cooney, 31 Kasım 1929'da Phoenix, Arizona'da Britanya Yahudisi ve Almanya Yahudisi kökenli bir ailenin kızı olarak doğdu.[3][4] Arizona Üniversitesi'nde eğitim gördü.[5] Çocuklar için hazırlanan Çocuk Televizyonu Atölyesi (CTW), Susam Sokağı Atölyesi ve Susam Sokağı projelerinin ortak kurucusuydu.[6] Hizmetleriyle 1970'te aldığı Christopher Madalyası ve 1982'deki Harris Vakfı Ödülü dahil birçok ödülün sahibiydi.[7][8]
