Konu

The Queen's Gambit hedefi dünyanın en büyük satranç oyuncusu olmak olan Elizabeth Harmon isimli satranç dahisi bir öksüzün sekiz ila yirmi iki yaşları arasında alkol, ilaç bağımlılığı ve duygusal güçlüklerle mücadele ettiği yaşam öyküsünü takip etmektedir. Hikâye 1950'lerin ortasından 1960'lara doğru uzanmaktadır.^[3]
