Kalsitonin (juga dikenali sebagai tirokalsitonin) ialah suatu hormon polipeptida linear asid asid 32-amino yang dihasilkan di dalam manusia terutamanya oleh sel parafolikel (juga dikenali sebagai sel C) bagi tiroid, dan pada banyak lagi haiwan di dalam jasad ultimobrankium.^[4] Hormon ini bertindak untuk mengurangkan kalsium darah (Ca²⁺), bertentangan dengan kesan hormon paratiroid (PTH).^[5] Kalsitonin telah dijumpai pada ikan, reptilia, burung, dan mamalia. Kepentingannya pada manusia belum diasaskan dengan baik seperti kepentingannya pada haiwan lain, kerana fungsinya biasanya tidak ketara dalam pengawalaturan homeostasis kalsium normal.^[6] Hormon ini tergolong dalam keluarga protein seperti kalsitonin.
